Cookie policy
Last updated:
This page explains which cookies and similar technologies aicorelabs.io uses, what they are for and how you can manage them. It complements our privacy policy and follows the Italian Data Protection Authority’s cookie guidelines (decision of 10 June 2021), Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy), Brazil’s LGPD and US privacy laws.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. localStorage is a similar space that stays on your device and is not sent to the server with every request. On this page we call them all “cookies”.
Strictly necessary cookies make the site work and do not require consent. Analytics cookies help us understand how the site is used, and we only turn them on if you agree. We do not use profiling or advertising cookies.
2. How to manage consent
On your first visit we ask whether you accept analytics cookies. “Accept all” and “Reject” carry the same weight, and closing the banner with the X counts as rejecting. Until you choose, we only use strictly necessary cookies.
Your choice lasts 6 months, then we ask again. You can change it at any time with the button below or from “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we stop analytics and delete the Google Analytics cookies from your browser.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a refusal: we do not show the banner and analytics stays off.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These do not require consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, Art. 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC). They are all first-party: aicorelabs.io sets them and they are not shared.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| lang | Cookie | Remembers the language you chose, to open the site in the right language | 1 year |
| lang | localStorage | Remembers the chosen language (read by the app) | Until you delete it |
| theme | localStorage | Remembers the light or dark theme | Until you delete it |
| cookie-consent | localStorage | Stores your cookie choice and the date you made it | 6 months |
| sb-…-auth-token | localStorage | Keeps you signed in to the restricted area; used only by team members (provider: Supabase) | Until sign-out |
| web-vitals | localStorage | Page speed measurements for the restricted area; used only by team members and never sent | Until you delete it |
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may set technical security cookies (for example __cf_bm) to protect the site from automated traffic. They are not used to identify you.
4. Analytics cookies (only with consent)
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to measure visits in aggregate. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, with possible transfers to Google LLC (USA) under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes visitors with a random identifier | 2 years | |
| _ga_<ID> | Keeps the session state | 2 years |
Google Tag Manager only loads Google Analytics and does not set cookies of its own. Advertising features are turned off: the data is not used for advertising or to profile you. Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
More information: how Google uses data from partner sites and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
5. Third-party content
Some blog images are loaded from Unsplash’s servers, which receive your IP address and technical browser data to deliver them. Links to LinkedIn, GitHub and other sites are plain links: they load no content or cookies from those sites until you open them.
6. Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some features, such as the remembered language, may not work.
